What i need to have my dog with me at work?
Unless your state laws allow for it, emotional support animals would have NO public access rights. I'm sorry, but unless your supervisors want to make an individual exception out of the goodness of their hearts, you are not going to be able to take your dog to work. No certification of any sort would make a difference. The only types of dogs with public access rights are Service Dogs. To be a service dog, you must be legally disabled, and the dog must be trained to perform tasks that specifically ist you with your disability. Emotional support is not a task under the law. There is a second clification under the law: Emotional Support Animal. These are animals whose owners are legally disabled by a mental condition, and the animal's presence and emotional support ists them with that. However, they have no special rights except in two situations: One is that most rental housing has to allow them if requested as an accomodation for a disability. The other is that airlines must allow them in-cabin. Otherwise, they are treated like normal pets under the law.
