Do these sentences make sense? If not, why?

Sentences 2, 4, 8 are poor sentences. You could get by with 2 & 8 but I think they are poorly expressed and need "of the' inserted after the first word. Sentence 4- Plenty early history is just poor usage. It should read the same as sentence 3
