How do I get my WiFi to stay connected?

My laptops WiFi card gives me rather...spotty internet connections. At home it works fine, but anywhere else, it'll tell me the signal strength is good or exelant, but it still has to reconnect all the time. The card is a Belkin G Wireless Notebook Card, and the laptop is an old Dell Latitude.
